Abstract

Five silver-selenium clusters were prepared by the reaction of silver carboxylates with RSeSiMe₃ (R = tBu or nBu) and phosphines. X-ray crystal structures were determined for [Ag₃₀Se₈(SetBu)₁₄(PPr₃)₈], [Ag₉₀Se₃₈(SetBu)₁₄(PEt₃)₂₂], [Ag₁₁₄Se₃₄(SeBu)₄₆(PtBu₃)₁₄], [Ag₁₁₂Se₃₂(SeBu)₄₈(PtBu₃)₁₂], and [Ag₁₇₂Se₄₀(SeBu)₉₂(dppp)₄] [dppp = 1,3-bis(diphenylphosphino)propane]. There are no Ag...Ag interactions, with all distances >290 pm.
