Abstract

Five silver-selenium clusters were prepared by the reaction of silver carboxylates with RSeSiMe3 (R = tBu or nBu) and phosphines. X-ray crystal structures were determined for [Ag30Se8(SetBu)14(PPr3)8], [Ag90Se38(SetBu)14(PEt3)22], [Ag114Se34(SeBu)46(PtBu3)14], [Ag112Se32(SeBu)48(PtBu3)12], and [Ag172Se40(SeBu)92(dppp)4] [dppp = 1,3-bis(diphenylphosphino)propane]. There are no Ag...Ag interactions, with all distances >290 pm.
